CCINW Trade Show to Rock Seattle

March 8, 2001
The Carpet Cleaners Institute of the Northwest (CCINW) is slated to hold its annual trade show, seminars, and dinner May 4-5 at the Seattle Center Pavilion in Seattle, Wash. Attendees will be able to make a “hands-on” comparison of operating equipment from several manufacturers in addition to viewing a collection of products in a show area that spans more than 25,000 sq. ft.

Visitors will be able to choose from four different seminars. The ASCR Oriental and Area Rug Seminar is a two-day course that is a prerequisite for taking the five-day class and earning the Certified Rug Specialist designation. The course covers cleaning area rugs and begins on Friday with classroom work, moving to an area rug cleaning plant for the second day.

Representatives of Ed Cross, Esq., will cover liability and litigation as it pertains to the restoration contractor in the one-day Restoration and Litigation – A Toxic Mix seminar. The course will start with minimizing risk and covering perceived wrongdoing; negligence; contracts; science; and when to hire outside help and then will finish with a litigation crash course. Contractors will present local case studies and participate in a question and answer period.

The half-day Textile Inspection seminar will teach attendees how to tell the difference between delamination caused by use from that caused by improper cleaning; and how to use magnification to tell the difference between a cut and a tear.

And finally, the Computer Training and Technology Update seminar is designed to show some of the tricks of learning how to get the most out of your computer and the software. Knowing more about E-Mail tricks, time management tools, sales and advertising management, and website management tools can bring efficiency to a business. New products that make these tasks easier will also be discussed in this half-day seminar.

CCINW’s Annual Dinner and Auction will finish off the event with an opportunity to receive great deals on items donated by vendors. Included in the admission price, there will be light food and soft drinks, a chance to win door prizes and a $20 certificate good for any purchase at the trade show. As an added bonus, family activities will be offered at the Seattle Center. For more information, call (877) MY-CCINW or visit www.ccinw.org.
