The Carpet and Rug Institute is building on its signature Seal of Approval program, recently announcing the new CRI Seal of Approval for Deep Cleaning Systems. The program evaluates the effectiveness of the overall cleaning process, and includes testing of equipment and cleaning solutions in combination.

"We've taken the successful work we've done in evaluating carpet extraction equipment using XRF technology and married it with our Seal of Approval protocol for cleaning solutions," CRI President Werner Braun said. "This is an opportunity for us to designate which systems work best for the customer, as well as give the individual companies that produce and market cleaning systems another way to distinguish their products as superior."
