Editorial Comment: SummerFest 2000

October 19, 2000
They came, they saw, and they learned. Carpet cleaners from all corners of the United States and Canada gathered in Atlanta, Sept. 29-Oct. 1, for SummerFest 2000. Old friends were met with smiles and new friends were welcomed with warmth during this “family reunion.”

As a first-time attendee of this gathering that consists of carpet cleaners, I didn’t know what to expect. However, I did know a few things: no vendors and no salespeople selling their wares. Definitely not your typical tradeshow! For the whole story on SummerFest 2000, turn to page 30. If you didn’t make it this time, plan now for next year, Sept. 21-23, in San Diego, Calif. I know many of our Aussie readers will be attending this West Coast event. Afterall, aren’t we all one?

Finally, as part of my goal to increase knowledge and camaraderie within the industries ICS serves, I would like to see submissions for a new monthly section that features ICS readers. Here’s what you need to do: Submit photos of yourself next to your truck or van, with a list of what products, chemicals and equipment you regularly use. Also, tell me something about you, and any “tricks of the trade” you would like to share. Send all submissions to: ICS Magazine, Attn: Arpi Nalbandian, 22801 Ventura Blvd., Suite 115, Woodland Hills, CA 91364.
