Emerald Carpet to raise money for hospital

September 8, 2008

GRIDLEY, Ca. (Gridley Herald) – September 3, 2008 -- Emerald Carpet Cleaning wants to give something back to the community, but it needs the help of volunteers to do so.

Owners Doug and Bonnie Schnepel recently revealed their plans to raise money for our local hospital, by setting a goal to raise $5,000 by September 30.

"We simply feel it's the right thing to do at the right time," Bonnie said. "It's our version of 'Pay it Forward,' but we need 100 families to succeed."

Each person who gives Emerald Carpet Cleaning a $50 check made out to BGMH Foundation in September, will receive up to 125 square feet of free carpet cleaning or a free chair and ottoman cleaning (which can be done anytime between now and the end of the year).

This offer is limited to homeowners within 40 miles of Gridley.

"The value of this free cleaning is more than $50, so it's a win-win for everyone," Schnepel said.

"Over the years, our family has used the hospital services many times. One of our children swallowed some gasoline. Another child was hurt at a track meet. One was hurt playing flag football. One of our family members had a seizure due to a brain tumor that was diagnosed at our local hospital. We sure would hate to have our hospital close."
