Home Depot and ServiceMaster to pilot home services program

ATLANTA -- The world's largest home improvement retailer and the nation's leading home service provider are joining forces. The Home Depot (NYSE:HD) announced it is teaming up with The ServiceMaster Company (NYSE:SVM) to test a range of co-branded residential maintenance and repair services including residential carpet and upholstery cleaning.

The partnership includes the launching of a pilot program targeting three test markets early next year. During the pilot program, the new co-branded services will be offered in approximately 30 stores. The services include:
Home Depot-TruGreen landscaping, lawn care and tree/shrub services.
Home Depot-Terminix termite and pest control services.
Home Depot-American Home Shield home warranty contracts.
Home Depot-ServiceMaster Clean residential carpet and upholstery cleaning services.
Home Depot-American Residential Services plumbing repair and fixture installation services.
Home Depot-Rescue Rooter drain cleaning services.

The program will be promoted in the test stores through kiosks, signage and promotional activities. Direct marketing to Home Depot customers and other prospects will also be used.

Illinois-based ServiceMaster's (www.corporate.servicemaster.com) home services include professional lawn, tree and shrub care, landscape installation and maintenance, termite and pest control, plumbing and drain cleaning, carpet and upholstery cleaning and home warranties. These services are expected to complement Atlanta-based Home Depot's (www.homedepot.com) product installation and home improvement services, which include carpet and flooring installation, kitchen cabinet and countertop installation, door and window replacements, and roof replacements, among other services.
