IICRC Announces ASCR Cash Out

March 26, 2001
Vancouver, Wash. -- The Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) announces that the Association of Specialists in Cleaning and Restoration (ASCR) will conclude its shareholder stake and seat on the board with the IICRC. In accordance with IICRC by-laws, original investment will be returned the ASCR.

“We regret the ASCR decision, but wish them well in their future endeavors,” said IICRC President Lee Zimmerman. “Through the development of new certification programs, the IICRC is developing new liaisons and continues to strive to achieve and maintain high-quality education.”

The dividends the IICRC produces for its shareholder associations are directed towards the educational programs and standards that benefit the Certified Firms and Technicians in the field. The IICRC will continue working with the 15 regional and international shareholder associations to develop training programs to meet the needs of a changing industry, certify technicians in inspection, cleaning and disaster restoration categories, and develop and revise standards designed to keep the industry abreast of new technology.
