IICRC Approves New Hard Surface Certification Categories

Vancouver, Wash. -- The Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) Board of Directors recently approved three new certification categories at the Spring 2001 Board meeting: Ceramic Tile Inspector (CTI), Wood/Laminate Flooring Inspector (WFI) and Resilient Flooring Inspector (RFI).

The courses include comprehensive and up-to-date information, covering the following topics related to ceramic tile, wood/laminate and resilient flooring:

• Manufacturing

• Material characteristics

• Specification

• Substrates

• Installation

• Maintenance

  “We believe that we have brought together a diverse group of industry experts to create much-needed inspection categories,” said Claudia Lezelle, IICRC Certification Inspection Division Chairman. “Manufacturers, retailers, and consumers now have someone to turn to when problems arise with their specific type of flooring.”
