This document was created by the Joint Industry Task Force for Carpet Cleaning Standards, and was made possible through the generous contributions of a dedicated group of experts that includes: allied tradespersons; cleaning chemical and equipment formulators and manufacturers; carpet manufacturers; international, national and regional trade associations; organizations serving the professional cleaning industry, both independent and franchise; cleaning industry training schools; cleaning service companies; and others with specialized experience. Larry Cooper of Denver chaired the S100 Committee. Members of the editing committee included: Larry Cooper, Barry Costa, Andrew Bober, Doug Bradford, Jeff Bishop, Clifford Grost, Doug McGettigan and Ruth Travis.
IICRC S100 is similar to other IICRC Standards in that it uses a two-part format: the Standard itself, and a supplementary Reference Guide. The Task Force took into consideration the importance of indoor environmental quality in this edition. Cleaning for health has become a very important aspect of what professional cleaners do as stewards of the indoor environment. Orders can be placed through IICRC Headquarters. The cost is $35.
The Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) is the certification registry that develops and monitors educational programs and standards for the inspection, cleaning and restoration industry.
