March 31, 2008
Lincolnwood, IL, USA-ISSA has announced the first group of individuals to achieve certification as official Cleaning Industry Management Standard (CIMS) ISSA Certification Experts (I.C.E.) in 2008. This addition brings the total number of experts to 210, representing 41 U.S. states and Canadian provinces as well as Mexico and the Caribbean.
Becoming a certified CIMS Expert positions an individual to provide training or consulting services to those cleaning organizations interested in complying with and preparing to certify to CIMS-a consensus-based industry standard that sets forth the universally accepted management principles that have proven to be the hallmarks of well-managed and customer-centered cleaning organizations.
“ISSA remains extremely pleased with the tremendous reception the ISSA Certification Expert program has received in the supplier and facility service provider communities,” stated ISSA Director of CIMS Dan Wagner. “The 43 individuals who achieved I.C.E. certification in February join those who are already actively assisting their facility service provider customers implement a quality and customer-focused management system in hopes of achieving certification to CIMS.”
To become a CIMS Expert, professionals within the cleaning industry must attend a one-day workshop and pass an examination regarding the management elements contained in the Standard. The CIMS Expert designation is earned by and applies to an individual professional and not to an entire organization. Two additional I.C.E. workshops will be held in 2008: in Chicago, IL, USA, on June 25 and in Las Vegas, NV, USA, on September 8 (in conjunction with ISSA/INTERCLEAN® North America), and registration for each session is expected to officially open soon.
