ISSA to fight OSHA over ergonomics final rule
February 2, 2001
OSHA released its final version of its controversial ergonomics regulation and it appears on the agency’s website at www.osha.gov. In response, the National Coalition on Ergonomics and the ISSA, a member of NCE, announced the filing of a lawsuit to prevent OSHA from implementing its ergonomics regulation. The final regulation applies to all employers including distributors and manufacturers of cleaning products. ISSA has signed on as a party to the lawsuit in order to protect the interests of the association’s membership. Other options being contemplated by industry include urging Congress to use its powers under the Congressional Review Act to overturn the ergonomics regulation.
