It's a dirty job, and somebody isn't doing it

Despite acknowledging that first impressions are important, nearly 30 percent of small business owners surveyed say they have cut back on cleaning in the workplace.

A recent small-business index sponsored by Mr. Clean Professional and the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) showed that of those businesses that curtailed their cleaning regimens, 44 percent reported negative feedback, such as increased customer and employee complaints. They also reported longer cleaning times when using cheaper products.
