Kaivac Introduces "The Dirty Mop Contest"
October 5, 2011
Hamilton, OH – October 4, 2011 - Most of us in the professional
cleaning industry have heard about those “most beautiful bathroom in America” contests
or “the cleanest restroom in the U.S.” competitions.
Kaivac, developer of the OmniFlex™
Crossover Cleaning system, is introducing a new challenge that is similar
to these competitions, but with a twist.
“We know this may sound silly and get a bit yucky, but we’ve got a
very good reason for starting the “Dirty Mop Contest,” says Matt Morrison,
communications manager for Kaivac.
“We
want cleaning professionals as well as the public to become more aware of just
how contaminated a mop can become. In fact, many times you’re better off not
cleaning at all than to clean with a dirty mop.”
Morrison
adds one of the company’s goals for its No-Touch
Cleaning system and the new OmniFlex Crossover Cleaning system is to help
eliminate the use of contaminated mops entirely.
“We are on a mission to replace mops with safer, more effective
[cleaning] equipment,” he explains. “Unfortunately, mops quickly become germs
on a pole after a couple of uses.”
To compete in the “Dirty Mop Contest,” contestants are asked to upload
photos of their dirty mops or mop buckets at the Kaivac
Facebook site located at: http://tiny.cc/esz7q.
The contest runs from October 5th, 2011 through November 2nd,
2011.
“The winner will be determined by public voting and awarded a $500
check. Our goal is for everyone to become a lot more conscious of just how
nasty a soiled mop can be,” adds Morrison.
