Rug Renovating HQ is Going "Green"
Rug Renovating, the world's largest rug and carpet cleaning, repair and restoration facility, will soon be getting a rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) system at its corporate headquarters in East Orange, NJ, according to a story on MSNBC.
The $1.4 million system, which is being designed, engineered and constructed by GeoGenix, will consist of 1,200 solar panels that will produce roughly 363,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity, enough to offset 90 to 100 percent of the building's electricity load, realizing $3,500 to $4,000 in savings per month. The installation is set to be complete by mid-2012.
Rug Renovating will own the solar system on its one-story, 55,000-square-foot corporate headquarters, which is used for cleaning, repairing and restoring handmade rugs and carpets, as well as distribution and warehousing.
