A two-year study at the University of Maryland has found that Sporicidin Disinfectant Solution is "significantly more effective" than bleach against Stachybotrys, Chaetomium and Aspergillus on drywall surfaces, according to Sporicidin International.

Sporicidin said the research shows that bleach off-gassed and lost efficacy after it dried on the surfaces, while Sporicidin Disinfectant Solution allowed no growth and was still effective four months after application.
Sporicidin Disinfectant Solution is EPA-registered for cleaning, disinfecting and deodorizing areas contaminated with mold, the company said.
