Study points to cushion improving commercial carpet cleanability

A new study of soil removal from commercial carpet has demonstrated that carpet cushion, properly specified and installed under workplace carpet, showed significantly better test results compared to the same style carpet installed without cushion.

The study was conducted at Professional Testing in Dalton, Ga., and co-sponsored by the Alliance for Flexible Polyurethane Foam and the Carpet Cushion Council. According to Bill Oler, director of the CCC, the results showed significant improvements with the use of cushion, compare to the un-cushioned installation.

“In each and every case, carpet installed with cushion outperformed un-cushioned carpet,” Oler said.
