System makes color-matching black and white

January 12, 2006

The Camaleonte color-matching system from Multimaster North America matches the exact color of a piece of leather furniture by examining a sample through a series of lights, lenses and software.

The spectrophotometer's color eyes scans the sample, and the software tells a dispensing machine to measure out the precise amounts of pigments and dyes needed to create the repair product that matches the original piece.
