Tom Hill and Barry Costa: A cut above for a cause

June 1, 2006

IICRC Executive Administrator Tom Hill and IICRC Standards Chair Barry Costa went under the clippers at the Connections Conference and Exhibition in Clearwater, Fla., May 4-6 to raise money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team in Training, a fundraising program with the primary goal of raising funds for blood cancer research, public education and patient aid programs.

A fundraising goal is established for each TNT participant. The fundraising commitment for each participant is established based on the location of the event they will attend. Once participants meet their fundraising goal, they are sent to a national or international endurance event.

Dennis Iverson of A&I Services personally sheared the two men, a reward for his donation of $2,000 ($1,000 per head) to Team in Training. Both Hill and Costa participated in the Rock ‘N' Roll Marathon in San Diego on June 4.
