Chicago,IL. – October 6, 2009-
Shaw Industries’ Technical Services introduced its M.A.C. Advantage to the
professional cleaning industry at ISSA Interclean North America. M.A.C. (for Maintenance and Cleaning)
is a web-based training program
for teaching the proper maintenance and cleaning processes for Shaw’s
commercial carpet products.
The MAC Advantage is a convenient and cost-effective plan composed of five key steps: preventative maintenance, reactive maintenance, daily maintenance, interim maintenance and deep cleaning using hot-water extraction. The interactive program also covers topics such as the science behind proper cleaning, in addition to how to choose carpets that make for easier maintenance. Shaw Technical Services Director Carey Mitchell says that this training program provides a more efficient way to communicate the MAC Advantage to Shaw’s dealers and customers. “The MAC Advantage covers the needs of three unique groups at the same time,” says Mitchell. “It trains our sales staff, our dealers, and the end-users that do carpet maintenance in-house. Additionally, the program is two-fold, meaning that it offers clear instructions for the management team as well as the cleaning technician.”
The MAC Advantage is available in both English and Spanish. The training program provides demonstrations of actual cleaning procedures and the latest technology in carpet maintenance. It also instructs facility managers on how to implement their own sound maintenance plan and where to find proper cleaning resources.
The M.A.C. Advantage, recently received the Gold award in “online training” at the annual Horizon Interactive Awards in Indianapolis, Indiana. The Horizon Interactive Awards is a prestigious international competition recognizing outstanding achievement among interactive media producers from all over the world. This award highlights the year’s “best of the best” in interactive media production. This winning online interactive program benefits commercial customers by giving them access to state-of-the-art training in the care of their commercial carpets.
One of Shaw’s external marketing partners and ad agencies out of Atlanta, Georgia., three squared, entered the competition along with over 2,000 other entries by agencies from around the world. The agency produced the winning project for Shaw’s Technical Services Product Care Group.
“The Horizon Interactive Awards represent the best of the best from Interactive Media,” says three squared president and CEO Shane King. “We are always pleased to be considered along with other outstanding talent from around the world. Being recognized with this award along with our client partners at Shaw is truly an honor. Our entire team is excited about this program and the impact it is having within the market. Shaw and three squared have worked hard as a team to create a unique program that is engaging, informative and measurable, and this award is a testament to all of our effort and dedication.”
