The Area Rug Cleaning Co. in Ann Arbor, Mich., introduces the Soil Separator. Rugs are fed through the machine on a belt-driven bed. The rug is then "vibrated," and particulate is released.
The Soil Separator employs a system of square steel tubes, instead of traditional metal or leather straps or wooden paddles, to help prevent damage to the rug. The machine also features a true HEPA vacuum system, and a floating head that automatically adjusts to the size of the rug being cleaned.
