Sapphire Scientific’s new truckmount, the Pro-1200 Direct Drive, is now available for order through Sapphire distributors.

The Pro-1200 is Sapphire’s first entry into direct drive carpet cleaning truckmounts. “We recently acquired a direct-drive platform,” said Mike Roden, Sapphire’s chief engineer. “It was a tested and proven design, but we made several significant improvements.”

These innovations include better heat production, quieter operation, and a simplified wiring harness that provides greater reliability. Sapphire engineers also designed a cross-bed waste tank that improves vehicle balance for enhanced safety.

The Pro-1200 heat exchanger is constructed with corrosion-resistant stainless steel, and now provides better flow for increased heat and quieter operation. The new design achieved a 10°F rise in solution temperature. For ease of operation, full heat control is provided from the control panel.

Engineers also revamped key components in the unit. The CAT water pump is now equipped with high temperature seals to increase reliability, and a specially-designed Tri-Lobe blower from Tuthill reduces noise levels and improves heat capture.

Rather than incorporating a separate engine for power, direct drive units are powered by the vehicle’s engine. This technology allows the Pro 1200 to be more compact, saving space in the vehicle for additional cargo, and reduces maintenance requirements. “The Pro 1200 is simple to use and easy to maintain making it a desired product in the cleaning industry” said Bob Kline, President of Sapphire.
