MINTURN, CO -- SteamMaster Restoration & Cleaning, LLC and Colorado Basement Systems, LLC are extending their food drive for the Vail Valley Salvation Army.  Technicians and employees are collecting non-perishable food items from clients and donors as part of the “We Will Clean Your Pantry” campaign.  In addition to a drop box at the companies’ offices, technicians will pick up items at their cleaning and restoration job sites.  Generous individuals can also call the office to schedule a pick-up.

“We are extending the efforts year round in 2010 to help keep the food bank pantry full beyond the holiday season,” says Gary Gilman, President of SteamMaster and Colorado Basement Systems. "We are asking clients and customers within our surrounding communities to contribute, and we are trying to make it easy for them to take part by providing pick-up services too.”

“We truly appreciate the generosity of businesses in our community, who make it possible for us to serve our local community even during these stressful economic times.  This effort by Steammaster is especially wonderful, since we get a lot of help during the holiday season.  People need food year around.” says Tsu Wolin Brown of Vail Valley Salvation Army.

According to Ms. Brown, the challenging economy has meant a greater volume of need for food and other necessities.  She has also requested that individuals donate items such as soap, diapers, paper towels and toilet tissue.

“When you’re receiving food stamps and having a hard time keeping food on the table for your family, simple items such as paper towels or soap become luxuries.   Food stamps aren’t able to be used for these items.  As always, we have a need for non-perishable food items such as bags of dried pinto beans or rice, spaghetti and jars of sauce, just to give some examples.”

“If you see a SteamMaster or Colorado Basement Systems truck or van, please feel free to give the technician your donation,” adds Gilman.

To schedule a pick-up, please call 970-827-5555.  A drop off box is also located at SteamMaster and Colorado Basement Systems’ offices at 1901 S. Main Street in Minturn.
