Chicago. Home to Cubs, Sox, Bulls and Bears. Captured by the verse of Sandburg and the machine of Daley, the Windy City is the host of this year's ISSA/Interclean-USA, the largest trade fair of its kind.

The four-day event gives 17,000-plus attendees the opportunity to peruse the latest technology, techniques and equipment the cleaning and restoration industry has to offer. The show provides the face-to-face time between manufacturer and end-user that many operators find lacking in the business today.

The ISSA/Interclean USA Navigator Show Guide presents a look at some of the companies you'll find at the event, as well the products and services they'll have on display. Nothing wrecks an event like not being prepared; the Navigator lets you chart a course to success through the aisles of McCormick Place.

But more than the Navigator awaits you in the fall issue of CFC. Those still drying out from the effects of Hurricane Isabel will be happy to see that we've dedicated a good portion of the issue to flood restoration in commercial settings. CFC editorial assistant Michael Chmielecki spoke with some industry experts to learn about "Water-Damage Restoration in the Commercial Environment."

Business writer William Atkinson takes a look at "Flood Restoration Business Strategies," and Robert Kravitz notes that "Flood Damage Calls for Professionals and Professional Equipment," while Kaivac's Tom Morrison visits that most common of flooded areas, the restroom, in "Keep Your Water in the Closet." And hard-surface expert Stanley Hulin examines the development and implementation of "The Hard Floor Maintenance Program."

Commercial Floor Care strives to present the industry with the most important and up-to-date information available. If there is a subject of importance to you that we have not yet addressed, please let us know. We only succeed when you do.
