The list rates firms on their performance in eight stakeholder categories, including shareholders, community, governance, diversity, employees, environment, human rights, and product, and then ranks them according to those ratings. Tennant is 54th overall on the list, which also includes such companies as Hewlett-Packard, Dell, Intel, 3M, PepsiCo, and Citigroup.
"In a day and age of corporate scandals and ethical crises, it's a true honor for Tennant Company to be called out for the good we are doing to serve our shareholders, our employees, our customers, our communities, and our environment," said Chris Killingstad, CEO of Tennant Co. Among the eight categories rated by Business Ethics, Tennant earned its highest marks for its product quality and environmental efforts.
