MoreMarch Madness officially came to an end Monday night when Kentucky captured the NCAA men’s basketball national championship. But we stumbled upon this interesting piece from USA Today that detailed the court floor that the Final Four was played on.
From USA Today: “Only the highest-quality wood, Grade 1 maple, is used for the NCAA courts. To meet that standard, the planks must be white and free of even the most miniscule knots and cracks.”
The story says that each floor is handmade to perfection. With a floor this nice, just imagine how important it is to maintain it, in this case, in between the basketball games. That’s one heck of a hard floor story.
