The Board of Directors of the Professional Carpet & Upholstery Cleaners Association recently voted to change the name of the non-profit association to the Professional Association of Cleaning and Restoration, or PACR (pronounced "pacer.")

As many of you are aware, in 2005, after a 10-month review process, the IICRC was approved as a standard writing body by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).

We have been listening and responding to our membership about benefits that our members would like to see from the association as well as including more networking opportunities for all CRA members.

Inland/Orange Director Jason Hensley says that on March 19, the chapter is sponsoring a Regional Education Day at the Academy of Textiles and Flooring in Whittier, Calif.

The PACR (formerly the PCUCA) celebrated the holidays on Dec. 3 in Denver at The Tavern Downtown.

Spring is right around the corner, so let’s start the season with new education and more opportunities for advancement. We have selected several willing volunteers to organize and assist in promoting regional quarterly workshops.

In November 2010, the IICRC announced its intent to create an international trade association as an extension of the current organization.

The CRA will begin holding its Annual Membership Meeting at the Connections Convention in Las Vegas each year.
