In Memoriam: The CFI mourns the loss of our past director and friend Joe Goodman. Joe had a finance degree and a law degree from UCLA. He worked his way through law school by cleaning fabrics, and stayed in cleaning after graduating.
CFI Secretary-Treasurer Greg Trigiero reports that the San Diego chapter of the Carpet & Fabricare Institute had a successful meeting at Innovative Surface Solutions, an industry leader in stone floor training and manufacturing of diamond products and stone cleaners and sealers.
Los Angeles Chapter Director Vince Attardo reports that the recent meeting presented by CFI President Matt Sanders of EcoStar, Inc. went very well. Matt did a great job sharing with the group the good the bad and the ugly of containment building.
The PCUCA held their annual planning meeting Jan. 9 to discuss the association’s direction for the next year. The board looked at the growth potentials for the association, as well as, future educational events and opportunities for PCUCA members.

The LMCCA and CFI educational arms recently held a joint IICRC Leather Cleaning Technician Course in Louisiana. The 10-student class presented a complete overview of leather, including history; identification; cleaning; troubleshooting and more.
