Remediation workers find mold in five Indiana classrooms...

Carmel, Ind. -- Remediation efforts were delayed this past weekend when workers found evidence of more mold-like material in cabinets and drywall in two first-grade rooms.

Workers were removing carpet in response to recommendations made by ATC Associates of Indianapolis. The air quality firm found four molds, including stachybotrys chartarum, during spot testing at Orchard Park Sept. 22, 27 and 28.

The spot testing was in response to the school's discovery of mold in a second-grade classroom in July.

In its report dated Oct. 31, ATC said that stachybotrys, a mold that led to the September closing of the Westfield library, was found in Rooms 17, 5 and 31 and in a tunnel under the school's first- and second-grade classroom wing.
