When testing different building materials simply choose the appropriate scale and push the meter against the material and read the results on the clear display. The signal will penetrate deep into the building material so it is ideal for reading through tiles and other coverings.

When using the MRH for non invasive testing of wood the specific gravity can be adjusted to give more accurate measurement for different wood species.
