Unger Industrial teamed up with Save the Sound on Saturday, September 24 for National Estuaries Day at Sandy Point Beach in West Haven, CT.

Bridgeport, CT .– Unger Industrial teamed up with Save the Sound on Saturday, Sept. 24 for National Estuaries Day at Sandy Point Beach in West Haven, CT., participating in one of many coastal clean ups that take place throughout the year, helping protect a most precious natural resource, Long Island Sound.

Unger presented Nifty Nabbers and Baggers (collapsible trash bins) to over 75 Save the Sound volunteers, ranging from local residents and nearby colleges who collected truckloads of trash.

Unger developed a relationship with Save the Sound (a non-profit program of Connecticut Fund for the Environment) in recent weeks when a member of the marketing department saw a news segment of volunteers picking up trash at local beaches.

“We immediately knew our Nifty Nabber would be ideal for their cause as it’s perfect for grabbing garbage; making it easier to collect and easier to reach, without continuous bending,” the company said. “On a group level, we share the same passion for cleaning up the sound. Unger is a local, shoreline company located in Bridgeport, employing local, shoreline residents, extending from New Haven and Fairfield Counties,” the company said. “Unger hopes to partner with Save the Sound again on future projects and donated Nifty Nabbers for future events. With Long Island Sound in our back yard, Unger truly believes in their cause!”
