URA holds L.A. Chapter meeting

The Los Angeles Chapter of the Unified Remediators Association held its most recent meeting at the Holiday Inn in Van Nuys, Calif., July 28.

The evening's featured speaker, Richard Scarborough of Environmental Inspections + Solutions, gave an engaging presentation titled "Mold & Beyond," a look at various remediation causes and concerns, to the testers, trainers and remediators who gathered there.

Along with the usual topics of allergies, chemical sensitivities and VOCs, Scarborough touched on some of the more fringe areas, such as bunker sickness, dense glass and stachy flash. He also offered his thoughts on housing and how construction methods might affect the future of the remediation industry.

"The way they're building homes these days," Scarborough said. "We're going to be in business a long time."
