ST. LOUIS, November 25, 2009 -- There’s an old saying that good help is hard to find. If that’s true, then Woodard Cleaning & Restoration Services has been most fortunate to have the textile cleaning industry’s pre-eminent authority representing the St. Louis-based company for more than 40 years.
On November 5, 1969 Rich Parrott was hired by Woodard Cleaning & Restoration Services as a cleaning technician. Through the ensuing four decades Rich has tutored and trained dozens of technicians about the intricacies of the upholstery cleaning industry as well as diligently serving thousands of Woodard’s customers throughout the St. Louis metropolitan area.
In honor and appreciation of Parrott’s career, the training facility at Woodard was renamed the Rich Parrott Cleaning & Training Center at a ‘surprise’ ceremony for Parrott that was held on Friday, November 20 at the facility, 9308 Manchester Road in Rock Hill.
“Rich Parrott has been a tremendous part of the success of Woodard Cleaning & Restoration Services since his first day on the job in 1969,” said company chairman Charlie Woodard. “His dedication and attention to detail have benefited not only countless customers but also everyone in this company by virtue of enhancing our reputation locally and nationally. We are proud to rededicate the Rich Parrott Cleaning & Training Center in his honor, and look forward to working with Rich and continuing to learn from his expertise for many more years.”
The Glendale resident, who continues to work full time, was feted on his 40 years of service to Woodard at the event, which was attended by his wife, son and co-workers and featured the hanging of a large sign to identify the facility with its new name.
