Road rage. Work-place massacres. Marital fights escalating to violence. Many feel that our society is descending into an emotional pressure cooker filled with suspicion, fear and, all too often, outright hostility.
It’s not easy charting a course in life. With the wisdom of hindsight, my own business life course best resembles the confused stumblings of a drunken fool. I think of my false starts and the dead ends I encountered, not to mention the wasted energy and time, and I cringe.

Few people really “listen closely and reply well.” Sure, we hear what people say. But most of us don’t listen, understand and reply on a deeper level. When we appear not to listen, we give customers the impression that we don’t care about them. And if they think that, they will never become the advocates, or Cheerleaders, that we want them to be.
My guess is you want the very best for yourself and your family. And don’t you deserve it? After all, the vast majority of carpet cleaners are highly skilled, hard working and honest individuals. Yet very few ever acquire “the very best” in life. What about you? Will you achieve it?
Freedom is a wonderful word. As a “lone wolf” solo carpet cleaner, you have chosen a wonderful freedom. You are free from the problems and worries of managing employees. Congratulations! But my guess is you also want the “freedom” of financial independence that wealth can bring. Sadly, very few lone wolves ever successfully achieve both of these freedoms at the same time.
