We’ve covered a lot on green in this issue as a means for cleaning for health and safety.
When I first entered this industry, “cleaning” generally indicated removal of any dust or soil contained in the item being on hand.
Originally air movers became popular in the carpet cleaning industry back in the 1960’s and early 70’s with the boom of wall-to-wall carpet and the portable carpet cleaner.
As a 40-year veteran of the cleaning and restoration industries, I’m proud to have witnessed and been a part of the advancements in science and technology.
When it comes to the pros and cons of truckmount systems and portable carpet extractors, the discussion can get a bit dicey.
Visible signs of water damage and moisture intrusions are easily recognized.
You walk into your carefully set up rug cleaning plant. Water is pooled everywhere on the floor - someone forgot to turn the water off on the rug bath. About a dozen rugs that had been vacuumed, dusted and prepared for cleaning that day are saturated with water that overflowed the rug bath, possibly mixed with soil.
